50 Years, 30,000 Miles and Zero Injuries

On a recent trip to Cape Cod, MA I saw a magazine (Prime Time) that caught my eye because of the cover story with the same title that I used for this particular blog post.  The article in the magazine was written by Susan Vaughn. The story featured Robert Larson, age 73, and his wife Karin who have both been active their entire lives. Robert has been jogging for 52 years and has never had an injury. What I liked was that they basically do some type of cross-training each season which has probably helped in terms of the non-injury factor. They both stay active by biking, jogging, swimming, hiking and dabble in cross-country skiing during the winter months. My favorite quote of his in the story is regarding his philosophy on exercise:

"The key is it's got to become a habit - a part of your daily routine"
